Isabella Lawson

Isabella LawsonIsabella came to New Zealand from Scotland in 1972. She originally went to live in Howick. She was born in Sialkot India where her father was serving with the Black Watch.

Isabella grew up in Dundee Scotland and worked At the beachhard to support her family of 3 daughters, being a solo parent. Holidays were comprised of vans at the beach. In the photo we see 4 generations. Isabella, Freda, Isabella's mother and Sylvia. Its great to be able to display these rare photos. She was over 60 years of age when she  immigrated to New Zealand.

She enjoyed going on bus trips and generally enjoying life. In 1982 she came to live in Australia with us. After a period of time she got her own Unit in Woody Point. She was an active member of the CWI. While in Australia she made several visits back to her beloved Scotland.

In 1997 she came back to New Zealand with us to live in Tokoroa. She died om the 23rd March 1998. We took her back for a last tour of Scotland and for internment with her grand daughter in Accrington.
